A recent TDWI survey reveals two trends: 1) roughly a quarter of organizations polled have a data warehouse deployed exclusively on cloud. Another quarter has a hybrid data warehouse that distributes data across data platforms on-premises and cloud & 2) organizations of many sizes and industries continue to modernize their data warehouses, so they can keep pace with evolving data and growing data-driven practices in analytics and self-service.
These two trends intersect, such that data warehouse modernization and cloud adoption often go hand in hand. This is largely because both seek to assure extreme scalability, lower administrative and platform costs, and support new business analytics. In this TDWI webinar recording, both practices are discussed with a focus on coordinating the two.
